Founding board
Help build this from the ground up.
We are seating three to five founding board members to set direction, steward resources, and keep the foundation accountable to the communities it serves.
The role
What founding members will do.
This is a working board for an organization at its beginning. You will help decide what the foundation becomes.
- Set strategy and approve the annual budget
- Carry legal and fiduciary responsibility
- Serve on at least one committee
- Give or raise support each year, at a level meaningful to you
- Help finalize our bylaws and policies
- Open doors in your networks
Who we are looking for
People who believe education is a matter of freedom.
Skills we need
Fundraising, law, finance, education, governance, and archives.
From anywhere
We are based in the DMV and meet virtually, with occasional gatherings.
A volunteer role
Board members serve without pay and disclose any conflicts of interest.
